Delicious split pea soup with chicken, wonderful sweet potato fries and fresh carrot juice make for a hearty lunch on a cold, rainy day. The Stalk Exchange, a new restaurant and deli at 6711 Greenwood Avenue N, is in a blue house (with a big deck out in front for warm summer days) across the street and up a bit from the Phinney Neighborhood Center. All the food served is organic. The shelves are stacked with luscious looking loaves of bread baked in a wood-fired brick oven out in back of the house. They serve fresh pastries every morning and brunch on Saturday and Sunday. After scanning the intriguing dinner menu, which changes according to the season, we know we will pay another visit soon.
Open Wednesday through Sunday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for breakfast and lunch, Wednesday through Saturday from 5 to 9 p.m. for dinner.
